april 2023
As spring slowly unfurls, the lush greenery of the city's numerous parks and gardens bursts into bloom, offering delightful escapes to the first outdoor events of the year.
AL. Berlin, a cultural collective that aims to support and connect people through art, music, and various knowledge productions, with a focus on the Contemporary Moment of West Asia and North Africa (WANA), organized another special event. The venue, Gretchen, was ideal. It is housed in a heritage building from 1854 on the site of former military stables with a vaulted roof. Such an amazing night full of dancing to the sounds of various artists who combine Eastern folk music with Western electronic beats. Kudos to the team of AL.Berlin for the flawless result.
This year was the first time we attended a very interesting cultural (magical) event. Walpurgis Night is a traditional festival that takes place in many cities in Central and Northern Europe on the night of April 30th. In Berlin, it is celebrated with vigor at Mauerpark, which is known for its vibrant and creative energy. The festivities started early in the evening, with people gathering around the park's huge bonfire and dancing to live music. Staring at the flames under the sounds of a repetitive mystagogic melody makes you hypnotize. Later on, a few brave fire performers put on a spectacular show. They were dancing and blowing fire in circular rhythms, celebrating the arrival of spring and the triumph of light over darkness. Walpurgis Night in Mauerpark is a true reflection of Berlin's culture, diversity, and love for outdoor festivals.
