march 2023
While the weather can still be unpredictable, with snow and rain still possible, March in Berlin is a lovely time of year, as the city emerges from the cold winter months and begins to experience milder temperatures. Relaxing on the balcony for the first time this year after a long winter period, going for long evening walks around Mitte, and celebrating Dora’s name day in a restaurant that we were looking forward to visiting, were the highlights of this month.
In many cultures, celebrating the name day is just as important as celebrating one's birthday. In Greece, for example, name days are widely celebrated with gatherings of family and friends, special meals, and the giving of presents. For us is always an inside joke about the importance of that day, but it is always a good reason to visit a new restaurant.
Otto Restaurant is a must-visit destination. A small but very cozy place, located in the heart of the city. This restaurant is known for its innovative cuisine that blends the best of German and international influences. The menu features locally sourced ingredients and changes frequently to reflect the season and the availability of fresh products. Otto’s philosophy is based on the modern approach of many new restaurants, which is sharing all the plates, something that is also very common to the Greek eating philosophy. Sharing is caring!
